About Us
Te Tai Whanake ki Tauranga Moana is a ground breaking space that sees Ngai Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui and Ngāti Pūkenga alongside Ngā Kura o Tauranga Moana, working together to enable the sharing of narratives from the perspective of each respective iwi.
Te Tai Whanake looks to provide Kōhanga, ECE Centres, Kura Tuatahi, Primary Schools, Intermediates, Wharekura and Colleges with the narratives that support the teaching and learning in their spaces.
Essentially Te Tai Whanake is an online Curriculum that is built around a Localised Te Ao Māori Poutama (Learning ladder) and complemented with a Te Reo Māori Poutama. Our Te Ao Māori Poutama has been built to align to the Aotearoa NZ Histories and is banded into age groups however moving forward, Te Tai Whanake will centre around ability levels. Each step identifies the learning opportunities for our Tauira (Students) and are aligned to the content created by Iwi to support that learning.
